So you think making Toledo your center of operations might be a good idea? We do too!
There’s a few apartments that we visited which were frankly quite nice. Madrid is a quick train ride away (it takes me just as long to head over to Berkeley every day!) and you can make it to many places via Metro from the Atocha train station that the AVE high speed train will leave you at.
So, what you waiting for? Start telling people what you are looking for, which apartment looks interesting to you, how many nights you would like to stay, etc.
You can do it here or in private, but make sure to ask us questions in the blog so that we can answer them for everybody.
Here’s a few questions to get going:
- Who wants to share an apartment?
- How many nights are you planning to spend in Toledo?
- Have you called any of the places we’ve listed and they are already booked?
Any others?

Don’t be shy. Let us know what you are thinking!
Others might be interested in hearing what you would like to see in beautiful Spain, decide to share a few days with you while there, rent a car together, who knows!?!
For starters, let’s talk about Hotels:
- Have you booked yours yet?
- How many nights are you staying?
- Did you get a killer deal?
- What about other legs of your trip?
This will also help us plan the activities around the wedding, so don’t be shy!!!

A year ago at this time we were celebrating our recent engagement. The streets of Toledo, in spite of the winter cold, listened warmly to our happy wedding plans. Where, when, how were all questions that before long led to wonderful answers.
In Toledo, June 22 2008 by the Catholic Church in the Cathedral of Toledo with Don Juan Sánchez as our memorable officiant. The wedding will be in the evening (very late for the Americans in the crowd–expect dinner to wrap up after midnight! 🙂 ).
But most of you already know all that. What’s new?
A lot of things! In the next few days these pages are going to fill up with information about hotels, rental cars, travel plans, and most of all your comments and questions to help you plan your trips.
We’re thrilled to share our wedding with all of you. Happy New Year 2008!

We’ve been checking the usual sites (kayak, travelocity, expedia, airline sites) and not seeing much fluctuation in prices around the wedding dates. Then today we found flights on www.ticketstoeurope.com for $1000 from San Francisco–about $400 less than we’d been seeing thus far. Try this site for your tickets! We’ve bought from them once before and were happy with the results.

We’ll have the ceremony at the Cathedral of Toledo, officiated by a dear family friend who is a priest. We are thrilled with the place, and grateful for having the special involvement of so many people in the wedding planning. The cathedral is in the center of Toledo, and the ceremony will be in one of the side chapels, called “La Virgen del Sagrario” (she is also the patron saint of Toledo). Here are a couple of pictures!
